Friday Night will be a formal event with a buffet style meal and Saturday will be a relaxed event almost like last year just better planned

But zanele don't you think it's important to get a date first so that we can get a quote from at least few places and compare? How about somewhere in October or September?? This Reunion must happen this year bathong phela ke ten yrs now so people especially the '98 and '99 should please respond with no excuse as we will be informing them in time and they will be reminded every forth night. Is it gonna be for only the alumnis or people will be welcome to bring in their partners??

Guys I think its cool what you are thinking now, the idea is really good. My advice will be first get the organizers, let them come together and conceptualize the whole event.

I get your point..but remember that venues normally require a 50% deposit depending on the number of people reservation is made for. So how are we going to come up lets say with R5000 to secure a venue plus accom then ask people to pay for themselves in the establishment's accounts.?

We seriously need to look into this bcos we might end up looking like a joke,where R200 come in drips and drabs without cut off time.we might even not make it and loose our deposit in the process.

I was thinking that if we can have a central desk(Zanele please coordinate..thanks)or open a bank account then we put our deposits in, for those who would like to attend the reunion.Once all deposit is paid we use the funds so secure the venue then everyone can pay the rest off with a reference number that would have been allocated to our group.
We must also set a time frame deadline for paying in deposit or RSVP to know how many people are expected..

The 15th of September was a huge success; the place was crackling with energy and joy from being reunited with very old buddies.

To everyone who made it to the event, you have my undying gratitude

To those who badly wanted to come but could not due to pressing reasons, Im very sorry, a lot of you called me during the day checking how things were going, Im also moved by your commitment, I really wish you were there

Special thanks to Suzan, Bhuti, Boy, Phuti aka Ernest (I think he drove the farthest to get there and back), Moss (He pushed for the event not to be cancelled), Given (Had the shortest notice), Penny (for the prayers), Kabelo (The only suggestion in the suggestion box), Gugu and Lesiba Sema, and many others

It may not be possible to host the main even this year, as most areas are fully booked and getting guest speakers on short notice could be hard.

Its important to invite guest speakers to this event as it is the first time we meet and Legae will be turning 10 next years.
